Jared Brown from Cypress signs his letter of intent Wednesday.
Family and friends were on hand Wednesday as Cypress basketball star Jared Brown signed his national letter of intent to play basketball at Westmont College.
“I am so happy for Jared and his family,” said Centurions’ Coach Derek Mitchell. “They have all sacrificed to help Jared earn his scholarship to Westmont. Coach Moore and his staff are lucky to be getting such a high character young man.”
“Jared is a true example of the saying, hard work pays off. Jared’s determination to be great has inspired his teammates to work harder than ever before, which led us to the best record in school history. I am very lucky and proud to have been able to coach Jared.”
Cypress, the Empire League champion, has a first round bye and will play the Beverly Hill-Saugus winner in the second round next Tuesday at home.
