Crean Lutheran, Yorba Linda, Godinez and Loara boys teams capture league wins

Crean Lutheran’s boys basketball team captured its third victory in a row, defeating Pacifica 54-41 Tuesday night in an Empire League game at Crean Lutheran.

Senior Drew Yezbak led the Saints (13-8, 4-1) with 17 points. Senior Josh Shin had 15 points and junior Mike Birket 10 points.

Yorba Linda 67, Brea Olinda 52: The Mustangs improved their record to 3-0 in the North Hills League. Connor Platt scored 16 points, Luke Ishikawa had 13 points, Alex Davis 12 points and Chance Sandoval 11 points to lead Yorba Linda.

Brea Olinda (14-9, 1-1) was led by Ivin Rhaburn and Larr Chen who had 12 points each.

Godinez 53,  Ocean View 48: The Grizzlies pulled off a big Golden West League win on the road. Joseph Lopez scored 24 points, Andrew Valdez scored 20 points and Roger Aquino 14 points to lead Godinez (13-9, 2-3).

Ocean View (14-9, 4-1) was led by Slater Miller with 22 points.

Loara 61, Santiago 55: The Saxons (7-16, 2-3) won the Garden Grove League game Tuesday night.

Tyler Nanthavong lead Loara with 20 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds.  Nick Nguyn had 16 points and Dakota Nanthavongdouangsy had 13 points for the Saxons. Santiago fell to 10-13 overall and 2-3 in league play.

 Loara plays Rancho Alamitos at home Friday night at 7.
