Crean Lutheran High School’s girls track and field teams won Empire League title, according to Coach Robby Cherry.
“They completed the season with an undefeated regular season in league dual meets and with a victory at the Empire League finals,” he said.
The Saints Eliza Wooden was named the league MVP.
“Altogether we had 13 individual league titles out of 32 total varsity events,” Cherry said.
Wooden won the 200 meters (25.45), 400 meters (59.92) and was on the 4 x 400-meter winning team (4:20.85). Elina Oh had titles in the 100 meters (12.65) and 4×100 meters (50.47), Reese Hogan won the high jump (5-2), Jane Hewitt captured the long jump (17-9.5) and Joelle Yen won the triple jump (34-8).
Other 4×100 meter runners were Madison Nguyen, Sydnee Norwood and Jordyn Norwood and other 4×400 meter winnners were Amelia Albelo, Halle Harder and Ellie Hordyk,
“Also our boys team finished well to clinch a tie for the runner up position in the Empire League by finishing second at the league finals,” Cherry said.
Boys individual league champions were Colin Currier in the 110 meter hurdles (15.14) and 300 meter hurdles (40.28); Jacob Majok in the long jump (20-11.5) and Joshua Paik in the pole vault (11-0).
