CREAN LUTHERAN 54, ROLLING HILLS PREP 52: Rui Han scored 16 points and Koat Keat celebrated his birthday by scoring 12 points and grabbing 15 rebounds to lead the Saints in the semifinals of the gold division Wednesday at the Damien Classic. James Deng added eight points. Crean Lutheran (11-0) faces Long Beach Poly Thursday at 7 p.m. in the championship.
CYPRESS 53, HIGHLAND 34: The Centurions (8-8) captured a victory at the Rajah’s Tournament in Indio. Kody Papke scored 15 points and Jonah Kim and Jonas Hanson had eight points each.
“It’s been a struggle to say the least, but I’m proud of our guys.” said Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell. “We are heading in the direction going into league. Our next three games are going to be a real challenge.
“We have Serra, Tustin, and Crean (Lutheran). I’m glad we have been able to face adversity early and learn how to preserve.”
Cypress faces Serra of Gardena Thursday at 10 a.m. in the final game of the tournament.
NEWPORT HARBOR 75, CALIFORNIA 28: The Sailors (12-5) won in the semifinals of the Century Holiday Classic. Brandon Kincaid scored 19 points and Guy Riggs 10 points to lead Newport Harbor, which meets Palm Desert Thursday in the finals at 6 p.m. at Century.
EL DORADO 58, GARDEN GROVE 25: Cooper Bladow scored 12 points, Seth Scarpulla had 10 points and Hudson Novak nine points to lead the Hawks (14-3). It was the 300th career victory for El Dorado Coach Ryan Mounce.
PALM DESERT 63, BREA OLINDA 51: Chase Jeanotte led Brea Olinda with 15 points in the semifinals of the Century Holiday Classic.
FOOTHILL 66, CARLSBAD 57: The Knights (13-1) captured a victory at the Holiday Classic to advance into the finals Thursday. Jacob Horton scored 18 points, Cruz Billings had 15 points and five assists and Braedyn Benhard had 15 points and nine rebounds.
