Coaches for the 57th annual Orange County All-Star Baseball Game at the Great Park Stadium on Wednesday, June 4, were announced this week.

The North coach will be Mike Caira of Pacifica who will be assisted by Benji Medure of Huntington Beach, Bob Marshall of Calvary Chapel and Ricardo Cepeda of Garden Grove, according to Guy Lemmon, president of the Ryan Lemmon Foundation which will be sponsoring and running the game for the second year.

The South coaching staff will include head coach Burt Call of Villa Park, Chris Malec of Santa Margarita, Dave Gellately of San Clemente and Josh Lee of Newport Harbor.

The coaching staffs will be the selection committee for players based on nominations from all the head coaches in the county, Lemmon added.

In last year’s game, Crean Lutheran’s Sho Garcia scored on a wild pitch with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to help the South defeat the North 3-2.

It was the first game held at the Great Park and first run by the Ryan Lemmon Foundation, which took over for the Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim which was unable to continue sponsorship.
