Villa Park 6, Stockdale 2: The Spartans were led by Brandon Luu, who pitched five innings to get the win, allowing one run and three hits while striking out nine. Jack Burke was 2 for 4 with a double, home run and four RBI, Geoff McArthur was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI, Gavin Grahovac was 1 for 4 with a double and Britton Beeson was 1 for 4 with a double. Villa Park will play at Huntington Beach Thursday.
DIVISION III
Newport Harbor 4, El Camino Real 0: The Sailors were led by AJ Guitron-Moore who was 2 for 2 with two runs scored and Austin Lueck who was 2 for 3 with two RBI. Lucas Perez was 1 for 2 with two RBI, Bryce Blaser was 1 for 4 and Trent Liolios was 1 for 4 with a double. Liolios got the complete game win, allowing four hits and striking out three. The Sailors will play at top-seeded Eastlake Thursday.
DIVISION IV
Tesoro 1, Mission Bay 0
Fullerton 4, Mar Vista 2: Kyle Kim pitched 6 2/3 innings for his third playoff win and EJ Ayala came in to get the one-out save to help the Tribe advance into the semifinals Thursday at home against No., 3 Burroughs of Burbank. Conor Sunderland was 2 for 2 with a home run and two RBI. It was his third home run in the playoffs and his sixth on the season. Click here for story and photo:
DIVISION V
Estancia 13, Mendez 0: The Eagles captured their regional opener in five innings Tuesday at Estancia.
Estancia (29-5) moves on to host Kennedy from Delano of the Central Section on Thursday at 4 p.m. in the semifinals. Four Estancia pitchers combined to allow three hits while striking out 10.
Jack Moyer was 2 for 3 with a run scored, RBI and a triple, Andrew Coyotzi was 2 for 4 with three runs scored, four RBI and a triple, Trevor Scott was 2 for 4 with a run scored, RBI and a double, James De La O was 3 for 3 with a run scored, two RBI and a double and Blake Peck was 2 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI.
Anaheim 3, Hueneme 1: Jillian Albayati pitched the first five innings to get the victory for the Colonists, who move on to face No. 3 Baldwin Park Thursday at Anaheim.
