CIF officials on Saturday released the seedings and pairings for the CIF softball playoffs that begin this week.
Fountain Valley, the Wave League champion, is the only Orange County team that received a top seed. The Barons, 20-4-1, are top seeded in Division 5.
El Toro is seeded second and Northwood third in Division 5.
Oaks Christian is top seeded in Division 1 and Villa Park is second. Centennial is top seeded in Division 2 and Mission Viejo second. Moorpark is top seeded in Division 4 and Yorba Linda second.
Santa Monica is seeded first in Division 6, Katella second and Garden Grove third.
CIF officials said 234 teams are entered in seven divisions with wild card games scheduled for some divisions on Tuesday, May 3 and first round games in all divisions on Thursday, May 5.
Rosemead is seeded first in Division 7 and Capistrano Valley Christian second.
The championships will be held at Deanna Manning Stadium at Colonel Bill Barber Park on Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21.
Games, except for the finals, are scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
