CdM, Katella, Western, Orange, Mater Dei and Santa Ana earn high CIF football rankings

Corona del Mar’s football team, coming off a 62-14 Sunset League victory over Newport Harbor, is ranked second in this week’s CIF Division 4 poll.

In Division 8, Katella is No. 1, Santa Ana fourth, Woodbridge seventh and Fountain Valley 10th.

In Division 9, Orange is third, Segerstrom sixth and Garden Grove seventh.

Segerstrom and Garden Grove meet for the Big Four League title Thursday at Garden Grove.

Also, Western is first in Division 11 and Ocean View fifth. In Division 12, Laguna Beach is second and Northwood eighth.

Mater Dei is ranked third in Division 1.
