Corona del Mar’s baseball team wrapped up the regular season with a 6-2 victory over Fountain Valley Thursday.
Ethan Watson went 5 1/3 innings allowing two runs and striking out four to notch the win. He also led the offensive attack with a 3-run home run.
CdM ends the regular season with a 19-7 overall record and 7-2 in Sunset Wave Leaguemark. The Sea Kings are the Sunset Wave League champions.
“I am so proud of the boys. It has obviously been a tough year working around the restrictions and uncertainty of COVID,” said CdM Coach Kevin McCaffrey. “Our boys have worked extremely hard and have done everything the coaching staff has asked of them. Our seniors have done an amazing job and I am so thankful for their efforts this year.
“Winning the league championship was a huge accomplishment for this team. It is a really fun group of boys and we are excited to have the opportunity to play in the CIF playoffs.”
