It’s going to be a busy Wednesday for Woodbridge High athletic teams.

Woodbridge will host a baseball game, a girls basketball playoff game and a boys basketball playoff game.

Attendance for the basketball games will be limited to those fans who have purchased tickets through an on-line program arranged by the CIF Southern Section, according to Athletic Director Rick Gibson. There will be four fans allowed per player, Gibson said. Masks will be required for fans.

BASEBALL

Woodbridge will host Beckman at 3:30 p.m. Coach Ryan Brucker’s Warriors (19-3) have already clinched a share of the Pacific Coast League title, their first since 2016. With a win Wednesday or Thursday at Beckman, Woodbridge wins the outright title. Coach Kevin Lavalle’s Beckman team (17-5) needs to win both games to earn a share of the crown.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Woodbridge (10-3) will host LaSalle (9-4) in the opening round of the CIF 2A playoffs at 5 p.m. Coach Keith Clarkson’s team finished second in the Pacific Coast League.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Coach Steve Scoggin’s Woodbridge team, which captured the Pacific Coast League title, will host Jurupa Valley in the opening round of the 3A playoffs at 7 p.m. Woodbridge is 11-3 and Jurupa Valley 4-7.
