“Four years ago we decided to end our fall with a flag football game just to have some fun and let the kids run around a bit,” said baseball coach Kevin Lavalle. “It has grown into this event where the guys really get into it. This year, Justin Goldstein and Trevor Ernt we’re getting a little too into it, so I had to find a way to eject them from the Turkey Bowl just so neither of them would get hurt.
“It’s all for fun. The winning class gets to tear apart a turkey that one of the moms prepares, then we clean up the field and start our off season. I always hope we will have a rainy day so they can get all muddy and dirty, but it’s always 82 degrees and sunny on Turkey Bowl day.”
