OC Sports Zone: Community First

Around OC: OC Sports Zone welcomes story and photo submissions

Segerstrom quarterback

Segerstrom quarterback Eliseo De Loera goes back for a pass Friday night.

We told you when we started OC Sports Zone about a month ago that the site would evolve and we would be making improvements along the way.

Today, we launch a new Around OC page which will be the home for sports news from around the county. The section can be found below in the categories and on top in the menu.

One of the lead stories is about the youth basketball camp that NBA star Klay Thompson had last week at the Ladera Sports Center.

Since we have a small staff, we depend on the public to send in sports news. That can include anything sports related, from youth to high school to college sports.

  • To submit stories and pictures, please email to Editor Tim Burt; timburt@ocsportszone.com

If you’re going to a football game next week, please send us shots of you and your friends in the stands. Or if you’re a parent who is shooting a game, we also welcome game action.

Just send the information to us along with a picture. The story will be edited to meet our standards. If you send in a picture, please identify the athletes with first and last names, from left to right.

If you’re an athlete, we would like to know where you are going to play in college. Parents, feel free to send this information in too.

We remain committed to our coverage of Irvine and Tustin, but we would like to publish sports news from other cities too.

We also need local advertisers to step up to the plate and help our independent web site cover the operating expenses. Our site is free to readers so we rely solely on the support from local advertising.

Our sales director and social media director Gabriel Calderon can be reached at: gabriel@ocsportszone.com and monthly advertising packages begin at $200 a month and $100 a week.

Please tell your friends about the OC Sports Zone. We appreciate any additional suggestions that can help us become a better website.

We’re excited about the future!

Thank you for your support.
