Kyle Kyckelhahn’s dominance in Aliso Niguel’s last-second 36-35 victory over Sunny Hills last Friday night has been validated by statistics from the game, posted online earlier this week by Aliso coaches.
In that game Kyckelhahn competed 26 of 42 passes for 418 yards and five touchdowns and ran 14 times for 70 more yards. He had a direct hand in 56 of Aliso’s 62 offensive plays and 488 of the team’s 503 offensive yards. Runnning back Chase Christner accounted for the remaining yardage, rushing six times for 13 yards.
Kyckelhahn threw five TD passes, including 23 yards to Caleb Peterson as time expired, and ran for one two-point conversion and threw for the second to account for all of the Wolverines’ scoring. Peterson caught 11 of Kyckelhahn’s passes for 202 yards and three scores.
The Wolverines (2-0), ranked fifth in the CIF Division 8 polls, host Newport Harbor (2-0), fourth in Division 9, in a game Friday night at 7.
