A look at some of the standout high school football players in Orange County during week five based on OC Sports Zone’s coverage, submissions from coaches and reports on X:
Wyatt Lucas, Corona del Mar: The Sea Kings senior set a school record with 352 yards rushing and four touchdowns in the Sea Kings 51-38 victory over Trabuco Hills. Lucas was named the Southern California offensive player of the week by Cal-Hi Sports.
Noe Najera, Century: The Centurions running back rushed for 170 yards on eight carries and a touchdown to lead Century to a 42-7 victory over Loara.
Joseph Torres, Saddleback: The senior rushed for 26 carries on 257 yards to lead the Roadrunners past Beverly Hills 60-21 in a non-league game.
Rudy Alcala, Troy: The quarterback completed 18 of 23 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns in Troy’s 42-10 victory over Segerstrom.
Henry Vega, Godinez: The junior running back had a 12-yard TD run in the third quarter that turned out to be the difference in the Grizzlies’ 14-7 victory over Katella. He was the game’s leading rusher with 76 yards on 15 carries.
Nate Lewis, Villa Park: Lewis passed for 200 yards and a TD in the Spartans 18-0 victory over Mira Costa.
Travis Frazier, Esperanza: The Aztecs junior quarterback completed 21 of 31 for 272 yards and two touchdowns in a 14-7 victory over Peninsula.
Ozzy Granados, Santiago: The Cavalier running back had 153 yards rushing on 18 carries with one rushing touchdown and one receiving TD in a 30-23 victory over Gabrielino.
James Gonzalez, Santiago: Gonzalez had 63 yards rushing and 60 yards passing with two rushing touchdowns.
