A look at Orange County high school football standouts for week eight, based on OC Sports Zone’s coverage of games, submissions from coaches and reports on X:
Diego Ramirez, Godinez: Ramirez led the Grizzlies to a 13-9 Zeta League victory over Magnolia and was named Grizzly of the Week, according to Coach Aron Kaye.
“He played outstanding, breaking up a pass in the end zone on the last play of the game,” Kaye said.
Deacon Moss, Irvine: Moss, a senior, caught two touchdown passes, had five catches for 168 yards and on defense, had two interceptions in Irvine’s 22-17 Iota League victory over El Toro. Moss holds Irvine’s career record for interceptions and receiving yards.
Khoa Bui, Irvine: The Irvine quarterback had 215 yards passing, two touchdown passes and 12 completions in the win.
Brandon Figueroa, Irvine: Figueroa rushed for 109 yards on 21 carries in the win over El Toro.
Cullen Doyle, Brea Olinda: The Wildcats quarterback threw for three touchdown passes and 212 yards in the 48-10 victory over Garden Grove.
Nick Davis, Brea Olinda: Davis led the Wildcats defense with nine tackles.
Timmy Grettenberg, Portola: The Bulldogs running back had a career high 210 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-6 Omicron League victory over University.
Matt Peters, Calvary Chapel: Peters had a 75-yard punt return to open the game in the team’s 40-6 Sigma League victory over Ocean View. As quarterback, Peters also had a touchdown pass and a TD run.
Noah Tagaloa, Segerestrom: The Jaguars running back had two long touchdown runs in a 27-0 Sigma League victory over Westminster.
Brady Edmonds, Huntington Beach: The Oilers quarterback had a school record 414 passing yards in a 43-29 Epsilon League victory over Foothill. He had five passing touchdowns and also rushed for 35 yards.
Isaac Real, Savanna: Real rushed for 232 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown in the Rebels 44-26 victory over Century.
Diego Perez, Savanna: Perez had 10 carries for 122 yards and four touchdowns in the win over Century.
Jake Dorsi, Savanna: Dorsi rushed for 131 yards on 15 carries against Century.
Ulavai Fetuli, La Habra: The Highlanders defensive end had a big tackle for a safety in the end zone leading to his team’s 15-13 victory over Crean Lutheran in a key Epsilon League game.
Dillon Booth, Crean Lutheran: Booth caught six passes for 58 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
Makhi Czaykowski, Beckman: The Patriots back rushed for 67 yards on 14 carries in the Patriots 20-14 overtime victory over Kennedy in the Lambda League.
Campbell Schamel, Tesoro: Schamel had five catches for 111 yards and a touchdown in the 37-10 Bravo League loss to Yorba Linda.
