MARINA 6, NEWPORT HARBOR 0: The Vikings won their second straight Wave League game over Newport Harbor Thursday.
The teams were scoreless through five innings with Marina sophomore Connor Miskelly scattering three hits and striking out six.
The offense got going in the top of the sixth innning. Bases loaded singles by by Matt Hauver and Chad Lux gave the Vikings a 2-0 lead.Â
After Matt Wilson and Hauver combined for a scoreless bottom of the sixth inning, the Vikings exploded for four more runs behind hits by David Mashburn andHauver again. Hauver then threw a scoreless seventh inning for the save.
Hauver was 2 for 4 with three RBI and a double and Wyatt David 2 for 4 with two runs scored.
