Ocean View’s football team has had quite a season so far rolling to a 7-0 record and one of the reasons for the team’s success has been senior quarterback Noah Hickman. The Seahawks, ranked No. 2 in this week’s CIF Division 11 rankings, open Pac-4 play Friday vs. Godinez at home.

Hickman has completed 54 of 78 passes for a 69 percent completion rate and thrown for 944 yards and 16 touchdowns with no interceptions. He has also rushed for 436 yards and 12 touchdowns.

“Hickman came to us from Brethren Christian after his sophomore year after playing JV and having their program dissolve,” said Ocean View Coach Luis Nunez. “He is a neighborhood kid as Ocean View was his home school and he had gone to middle school with most of the kids on the team.

“Hickman is the heart of this football team and he’s one of the brightest kids we’ve had at Ocean View. He’s a 4.0 student in AP classes and truly uses those attributes on the field. He is like having an extra coach on the field and someday will make a great coordinator if he ever decides to coach. He’s worked extremely hard studying the playbook and even put on close to 15 pounds in the off-season with his work in weight room. He makes our offense go and obviously an important pawn in the future success going forward this season.”
