Corona del Mar’s baseball team continued its strong play in the Newport Elks Tournament, defeating Santa Fe 7-6 Wednesday afternoon.
The Sea Kings are 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the tournament.
Santa Fe scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead but CdM responded by scoring two runs in the seventh.
Blake Butcher was on the mound in the seventh inning and got the win, striking out all three batters he faced. Kieran Sidebotham, Max Lane and Will Butler all recorded two hits for the Sea Kings.
CdM will wrap up the tournament on Friday.
