Beckman’s baseball team notched its first victory of the season Tuesday, defeating Northview of Covina 6-1 in the Chino Tournament.
Jakob Guardado got the victory, throwing five innings and allowing three hits and striking out five. Nick McLain picked up the save throwing two innings and striking out two.
Nolan Han was 3 for 3 with two runs scored and a double for Beckman (1-2). McLain was 3 for 4 with two RBI and and a double and Cooper Munro had two RBI.
“We played a really clean game, which is what I wanted,” said Beckman Coach Kevin Lavalle. The win was great, but the attention to detail today, and the energy we played with will win us a lot of games.”
Trabuco Hills 7, Pacifica 0: Caleb Oddo was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored; Ryan Ball was 3 for 3 with a double and two RBI and Drew Barrett was 1 for 4 with a triple and two RBI to lead Trabuco Hills.
On the mound, Mason Molina pitched four innings, striking out six and allowing two hits. Danny Suarez pitched three innings, struck out five and allowed one hit.
