Coach Scott Meyer and the Trojans are now 1-1 on the season.
CIF officials confirmed Wednesday that Laguna Hills football team has been forced to forfeit its 46-6 opening week victory over University because of an ineligible player.
Laguna Hills adjusted record is now 0-2 while University is 1-1.
“I was surprised when I heard about Laguna Hills,” said University Coach Scott Meyer. “It isn’t something that ever crosses your mind. There are so many transfers that are illegitimate in some other leagues that it makes you feel bad for a school like Laguna Hills that does things the right way.
“For us down the line it may have playoff implications. For us to even talk playoffs though, we need to improve our game in every aspect.”
University plays Glenn Thursday night at 7 at Excelsior High in Norwalk.
