Western’s football team started off fast Friday night and never looked back.
The Pioneers scored 13 seconds into the game when Caine Savage took the opening kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown and went on to defeat Glenn 48-0.

Later in the quarter, Anthony Barbosa recovered a fumble and Western scored again on a 30-yard TD pass from Isiah Del Toro to Caine Savage.
The defense then held on fourth down and Del Toro threw a 77-yard TD pass to put Western ahead 21-0.
The second play of the second quarter Isiah Del Toro hit Cassius Savage for a 30-yard touchdown score.
After a Del Toro rushing touchdown, De Toro connected again hitting Cassius Savage on a 34-yard touchdown strike capping a four-touchdown throwing effort. He also had a rushing TD.
“The last score came on a scoop and score touchdown from our defense when Tyrone Johnson recovered a fumble and returned for a defensive score,” said Coach Dan Davidson.
Western (4-1) led 48-0 at halftime. It was the fourth consecutive shutout for Western.
Del Toro completed 8 of 14 passes for four touchdowns. Caine Savage had four catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Cassius Savage had three catches for 60 yards and two touchdowns.
Simi Ah-Loe rushed for 61 yards on nine carries. Caine Savage rushed for 50 yards on five carries and Del Toro rushed for 25 yards and one TD.
Glenn fell to 2-3.
