It’s going to be a special summer for an Anaheim Hills youngster who plays for the Irvine Diamondbacks baseball team.
Josiah Hartshorn of the Irvine Diamondbacks and Top Tier baseball of Anaheim was recently selected to the USA baseball 12-and-under squad, according to Dan Romero of the Diamondbacks.
Hartshorn will play first base and center field and pitch for the team, which will begin play in the World Baseball Softball Confederation under-12 World Cup in Taiwan next week.
In 19 games with the Diamondbacks in 2019 Hartshorn, a switch-hitter, batted .614, hit four home runs and had 19 RBI. He also went 4-1 on the mound with a 2.33 ERA with 46 strikeouts in 27 innings. He pitches left-handed.
