Trabuco Hills football team is getting ready for its season opener and competition in the Sea View League this year.
Coach John Abdelnour’s team opens the season Friday, Aug. 17, hosting Corona at 7 p.m.

“A few of our strengths is our depth and experience at the skill positions,” said assistant coach Matt Bowman. “Sam Murphy and Troy Fields have been battling for the starting quarterback spot all spring and summer.
“Key contributors on offense look to be Josh Lupica and Leo Butler at receiver. Newcomer Jake Naso also looks to make some plays at receiver. Senior JC Montgomery returns at running back and sophomore Caden Herr has had a good off season at running back. The offensive line is led by seniors Cole Young and Harry Irving.”

Bowman said the Mustangs have an “experienced secondary. Jalen Galvanoni-Peatry and Nico Togonon. Chris Crow and Zach Porter look to be the primary pass rushers and the linebackers are led by senior Andrew Gonneville.”
Galvanoni-Peatry is a “two-way starter and returns punts,” Bowman said. “He “He is a great weapon.”
The kicking and punting duties will be handled by both Luke Holland and Nick Serpa, Bowman said.
