Orange County high school baseball highlights, final scores for Tuesday, April 14

GOLDEN WEST LEAGUE

TUSTIN 5, SEGERSTROM 0: The league-leading Tillers (12-8, 4-1) got another strong pitching performance from senior left-hander Adam Whyte, who pitched a complete game, striking out 16 after striking out 14 in his previous start. Whyte has struck out 30 batters and allowed no earned runs and just five hits in two consecutive complete games.

He also went 2 for 2 with a double, walk and two runs scored and two RBI. He was also hit by a pitch.

Nyte Teeter also had an RBI double for Tustin.

Tustin had 13 hits in the contest. Tustin plays at Segerstrom (6-13, 3-4) on Friday.

SUNSET LEAGUE

CORONA DEL MAR 3, LOS ALAMITOS 2 (9 innings): Ben Stone pitched 5 1/3 innings for CdM striking out five. Charlie Kaster went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Brady Zenz hit a sacrifice fly to win it for the Sea Kings (9-10, 2-8).

The teams wrap up their league series Thursday at Los Alamitos and Friday at CdM.

CRESTVIEW LEAGUE

LA HABRA 3, EL MODENA 2: Tatem Borgogno had the go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning for the Highlanders (10-10-1, 2-4). Angel Acuna got the win pitching five innings. Patrick Castaneda earned the save with two shutout innings. Nico DeCorte was 2 for 4, Austin Shoa had a double and Bobby Brooks an RBI.

VILLA PARK 2, FOOTHILL 1: Senior Jack McGuire pitched a complete game striking out 16. Senior Justin Lopez had the go-ahead home run in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Spartans (14-6-1, 5-2). The teams play again Thursday at Foothill.

CYPRESS 5, EL DORADO 0: Drew Slevcove pitched seven innings allowing three hits and striking out nine for the league-leading Centurions (16-5, 6-1). Dylan Keliiholokai was 2 for 4 with two home runs and four RBI. Martinez was 2 for 3 with a run scored, Jake De Laquill had a run scored, a sacrifice fly and an RBI and Landon Anderson scored a run.

EMPIRE LEAGUE

COSTA MESA 4, OCEAN VIEW 3: Wylan Rottschafer pitched three innings allowing two hits and no earned runs and struck out four for the Mustangs. He was also 2 for 4 at the plate with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Grady Jackson was 1 for 2 with a double and and RBI for Costa Mesa (15-5, 5-2).

SAN JOAQUIN LEAGUE

PACIFICA CHRISTIAN 9, CAPO VALLEY CHRISTIAN 2: Johnny Coopman was 2 for 4 with three RBI and a home run, Scout Escobedo was 2 for 4 with a double and John Peterson was 2 for 4. Coopman got the win, striking out seven in seven innings.
