CIF State So Cal Regional final scores, highlights for OC teams Thursday, March 5

DIVISION I

MATER DEI 64, JSERRA 60: Luke Barnett had 25 points and five 3-pointers and seven rebounds, Zain Majeed had 20 points and seven rebounds and Richie Ramirez 14 points and four assists to lead Mater Dei to the win Thursday at JSerra. The No. 16 seeded Monarchs (22-15) play at No. 4 St. John Bosco Saturday night in the semifinals.

JSerra (24-14) was led by Jaiden Bailes, who scored 25 points. Godschoice Eboigbodin added nine points and 11 rebounds and Micah Cunningham nine points and seven rebounds.

CREAN LUTHERAN 71, CENTENNIAL 66: The No. 7-seeded Saints (28-7) came back from a nine-point halftime deficit to win on the road against No. 2 seeded Centennial and advanced into the semifinals Saturday night at No. 6 Damien. (Check back for photos, story).

DIVISION III

BIRMINGHAM 77, TRABUCO HILLS 58: The Mustangs (21-14) were led by Devon Williams who had 23 points and five rebounds, Carter Peckson who had 16 points and five 3-pointers and Shoji Karst who had 12 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Ryan Hull had eight points and four rebounds and Jonah Silver six points, four rebounds and four assists.

DIVISION IV

SAN JUAN HILLS 77, VENICE 56: The San Juan Hills Stallions, led by head coach Jason Efstathiou, advanced to the semifinals with the win at home Thursday night.

The No. 3-seeded Stallions (19-14) were lifted by a big performance from senior forward Rocco Jensen, who finished with a game high 31 points and a school record nine 3-pointers. He also grabbed four rebounds.

Sophomore guard Kellen Owens also had a great night scoring 19 points and hauling in five rebounds while Cash Harris had eight points. Senior center Oliver Sandor was able to utilize his 6-8 size and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench for the Stallions including two on the offensive end.

Senior forward Garrett Brehmer had a good all around game as well with six points, six rebounds and two assists. Venice senior guard A’Jonn Mitchell had a team high 16 points while playing the entire game but the Stallions’ duo of Jensen and Owens proved to be too much.

San Juan Hills moves on to face No. 2-seeded Granada Hills Saturday in the semifinals at Granada Hills.
