Villa Park Coach Burt Call earns 500th career victory.
CRESTVIEW LEAGUE
VILLA PARK 2, EL MODENA 0: Jake Nobles (3-1) pitched a complete game shutout, allowing three hits and striking out seven to lead Villa Park (6-2, 1-2) to a Crestview League victory Saturday. Aidan Young was 1 for 2 with a leadoff home run, his first of the season and an RBI and Gunner Santillo was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Villa Park officials added that it was the 500th career victory for Coach Burt Call, and congratulatory messages from area coaches were sent on X.
PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE
LAGUNA BEACH 4, IRVINE 0: Laguna Beach (8-0, 2-0) captured its second straight win over the Vaqueros with a win at Irvine Saturday in a makeup of Friday’s rained out game. Adam Valencia and Jason Alderson pitched for Irvine (4-7, 0-2). Evan Tamayo was 1 for 3, Valencia was 1 for 2 with a walk, Alex Cho was 1 for 1, Brandon Figueroa was 1 for 2 with a double and Hudson Hall was 1 for 2.
NON-LEAGUE
ESTANCIA 5, COLTON 3: Estancia (5-3) was led by winning pitcher Nico Viramontes (3-0). He pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs and six hits and struck out four. Jake Humphries earned the save, pitching 1 1/3 innings. He allowed one hit and struck out three.
Sawyer Atkinson was 2 for 3 with a run scored, two RBI and a double; Viramontes was 1 for 3 with a run scored and a double, Miles Dodge was 2 for 3 with a run scored and two RBI and Sean Sweeney was 1 for 3 with an RBI.
Estancia plays at Angel Stadium Tuesday in the Hal Classic against La Serna at 3:30 p.m.
TRABUCO HILLS 5, ONTARIO CHRISTIAN 0: The Mustangs (7-0-1) captured a road win Saturday. Mike DeFrancesca pitched five strong innings to lead the way. Sam Crouse was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored and also pitched two scoreless innings, striking out two.
Amedeo Miller had a big two out RBI hit in the seventh inning, scored two runs and played outstanding defense as third base for the Mustangs.
ORANGE 2, TUSTIN 1: Two Orange pitchers limited Tustin to one hit in a makeup game at Tustin Saturday.
