Crean Lutheran High School officials on Tuesday announced the appointment of Kyle Rouse as head girls basketball coach.
Rouse brings more than 20 years of extensive coaching experience, leadership and a proven track record of developing successful basketball programs at both high school and collegiate levels and has demonstrated dedication and passion in coaching, according to a release from the school.
He has been the head women’s basketball coach at Westcliff University since 2019, where he managed a staff of assistant coaches and graduate assistants, facilitated team schedules and led the team to its first-ever NAIA National Tournament berth and a California Pacific Conference Tournament Championship appearance, Crean Lutheran officials said.
Rouse also organized team academic standards to achieve the highest team GPA in program history.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kyle Rouse to the Crean Lutheran family,” said Eric Olson, athletic director at Crean Lutheran. “Kyle’s extensive experience, strategic vision and commitment to both athletic and academic excellence align perfectly with our mission of Proclaiming Jesus Christ through Excellence in Education. We are confident that Kyle will lead our girls’ basketball program to new heights.”
Rouse holds a Master’s Degree in Coaching and Athletics Administration from Concordia University Irvine and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology/Leadership from National University.
The new Saints coach was named the 2021-2022 California Pacific Conference Coach of the Year and currently serves on the Women’s Basketball NAIA Executive Committee.
“I am honored to join Crean Lutheran High School and lead the girls’ basketball program,” Rouse said in a statement. “I look forward to working with the talented student-athletes, dedicated faculty and supportive community to build a program that not only excels on the court but also upholds the values of faith, excellence and service.”
