A number of Orange County high school girls and boys soccer teams earned high seeds for the CIF playoffs that begin this week.
Girls soccer
In girls soccer, eight divisional champions will be crowned out of 249 entrants into the playoffs scheduled to open with wild‐card matches in divisions where necessary on Monday, Feb. 5.
First‐round contests in all divisions are Wednesday, Feb. 7. The single‐elimination tournaments will conclude with championship matches at host sites on Saturday, Feb. 24, according to CIF officials.
Santa Margarita is top seeded and Capo Valley third in the open division. Pacifica is fourth seeded in Division 1, Esperanza is second, El Dorado third and Woodbridge fourth in Division 2, Fairmont Prep is second in Division 4 and Estancia is top-seeded in Division 5.

Boys soccer
There are 291 boys soccer teams in eight tournament brackets, with competition scheduled to get under way with wild card round matches where necessary Tuesday, Feb. 6, CIF officials said.
First‐round contests will be played in all divisions on Thursday, Feb. 8, with single‐elimination competition leading to the CIF finals at Veterans Stadium at Long Beach City College and Fred Kelly Stadium in Orange Saturday, Feb. 24.
Mater Dei is seeded second and San Clemente third in the open division, Sunny Hills is top-seeded and Servite is third in Division 1, Newport Harbor is third in Division 2 and Northwood is third in Division 6.
