Newport Harbor’s boys basketball team improved its record to 12-1 with a 66-57 non-league victory over Fountain Valley Wednesday night.
Dayne Chalmers scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Sam Barela scored 17 points and notched nine assists to lead the Sailors.
The Sailors play Friday at Marina.
Also Wednesday night:
La Mirada 69, Yorba Linda 45: Cory Knutson had 11 points and Omair Memon eight points to lead Yorba Linda (9-5).
Huntington Beach 57, Corona del Mar 56: The Oilers (9-8) were led by James Downs (15 points) and Nick Saccacio (13 points). John Humphreys scored 22 points, Jack Stone had 14 points and Jake Hamilton 13 points for CdM (7-5).
