SANTA MARGARITA 2, SERVITE 0: The Eagles (10-2, 7-1) clinched the series with a Trinity League win Friday. Sammy Cova got the win, pitching 5 2/3 innings and striking out six. Brennan Bauer pitched 1 2/3 innings, striking out three. Luke Lavin was 1 for 3 with an RBI, Blake Ankrum was 1 for 2 with two RBI and a run scored and Blake Balsz was 1 for 2.
The teams play again Saturday at 11 a.m. at Santa Margarita.
FOOTHILL 3, El DORADO 0: The Knights recorded a Crestview League win Friday. Andrew Parker had another strong outing for the Knights. In six innings, he allowed seven hits and struck out four. Ty Cowley earned the save striking out three. Parker was 1 for 1 with three walks and two RBI, Tyler Hawkins was 1 for 2 with two runs scored and Cowley was 2 for 3.
VILLA PARK 8, EL MODENA 5: Zach Brown (4-0) got the victory. In 5 1/3 innings, he had eight strikeouts. Andrew Grove recorded the save. Gavin Grahovac was 3 for 3 with two doubles, two RBI and two stolen bases, Geoff McArthur was 2 for 5 with three RBI, Justin Tims was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and Nathan Pone was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI to lead the offense.
COSTA MESA 18, SADDLBEACK 2: Michael Joyce was the winning pitcher for Costa Mesa. He allowed three hits and struck out three. Sam Stute was 2 for 5 with four RBI, Grady Jackson was 4 for 6 with three RBI and Caleb Robeck 2 for 2 with a double, home run and four RBI to lead the Mustangs (12-2, 3-0) who are battling Estancia for the Orange Coast League title.
TESORO 6, DANA HILLS 1: In the first game of a doubleheader, Jake Porter got the win for the Titans pitching five innings. Carter Jorissen was 2 for 4 with two RBI and Jake Lambin 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI.
TESORO 11, DANA HILLS 0: The Titans completed a sweep of the doubleheader with a win in the second game. Caden Engelken pitched five innings allowing no hits and no runs. Jackson Freeman was 3 for 5 with two home runs and three RBI and Jackson Peper was 3 for 4 with a double.
