Luke Galvan, Matthew Hancock, Logan Davis, Matthew Carbajal and Niko Savage pitched a combined no-hitter as Fullerton High School’s baseball team defeated Loara 16-0 at the Loara Tournament at Glover Stadium on Saturday.
Galvan, a left-handed sophomore, started the game and went three innings before giving way to Hancock, Davis, Carbajal and Savage, who each pitched an inning apiece to complete the no-hitter. The Indians improved to 3-0 and have outscored their opponents 31-2 over the first three games of the season. Fullerton will face Millikan at home on Tuesday.
Connor Sunderland homered, tripled and had four RBI as the Indians built a 6-0 lead after two innings and then increased its advantage to 12-0 after three innings before cruising to the victory. Zach Fany had three hits and scored three runs and Nate Norman had three hits for the Indians. Three Saxons (1-2) were the only Loara batters to reach base, all by walks.
“It feels pretty good to throw a combined no-hitter, said Galvan. “It doesn’t happen every day and it gives us a lot of confidence going forward against Millikan on Tuesday.”
