Saddleback High School’s football team will play its first home game at the new athletic stadium on campus on Friday, Sept. 29, when it hosts Costa Mesa in an Orange Coast League game, according to Athletic Director Rob Thompson.
Kick-off is at 7 p.m.
Opening ceremonies for the home of the Roadrunners were held last week by Santa Ana Unified School District.
The 2,500-seat lighted facility facility, built by the Santa Ana Unified School District at a cost estimated at $21.9 million will be the home for Saddleback High School’s football, soccer and track and field teams. Groundbreaking was held in March 2022.
Costa Mesa is 1-4 overall and 0-1 in league play while Saddleback is 0-5 and 0-2.
