Capo Valley Christian evens record with 31-12 road victory over Riverside Prep

Capistrano Valley Christian’s football team made a long bus ride Friday night, but it was a happy trip home as the Eagles came away with a 31-12 victory over Riverside Prep to even their record at 1-1.

Tight end/linebacker Dylen Roberts had a solid game for the Eagles.

Rome Demongin led the offensive attack for the Eagles.

Quarterback Tyler Henry, who was returning from an injury that kept him out of last week’s game, was efficient in his season debut, said Coach Rick Curtis.

Henry completed 11 of 15 passes for 138 yards and three touchdowns.  Rome Demongin had another solid game at running back, rushing for 112 yards on 17 carries and one touchdown.

“Simeon Marton played well on offense and defense as he hauled in six passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns,” Curtis said.  “Marton added 10 total tackles, four of which were for a loss, as he led the defense against the Silver Nights.

“Dylen Roberts hauled in two passes for 23 yards and one touchdown from his tight end position, and was solid on defense with five unassisted tackles and a caused fumble. Offensive and defensive lineman Noah Olson was the player of the game as he blocked well on offense and added seven tackes (2 sacks) and a blocked punt on defense.”

Capo Valley Christian has its first home game Thursday night, hosting Calvary Chapel of Santa Ana at Laguna Hills at 7.
