Los Osos took charge early moving out to a 21-12 lead after one quarter and a 37-22 advantage at halftime.

The Trojans (11-8 overall) were never able to regroup.

Los Osos (10-5) moves on to the finals Saturday night against the Compton-San Clemente winner. The Grizzlies were led by Luke Parrish (24 points) and Rojas Uriyah (17 points).

“We played scared,” said University Coach Mike Dinneen. “We didn’t do any of the things we talked about and Los Osos did a good job against us. We just didn’t do what we should have done.

“We didn’t attack the basket at all and we kept throwing the ball back out toward half-court and number three for them (Seth Tippett) got three steals on passes that we threw back out toward half-court after we had stopped our dribble and we didn’t rebound at all in the first half and didn’t really put up much effort in the game. It was little disappointing.”

Andrea Roy led University with 17 points. Will Stenta had nine points.

The Trojans will face the loser of the San Clemente-Compton game Saturday at 6 p.m. in the third place game at Tustin.
